Size approximately 48cm x 36cm x 4cm
This end-grain chopping board is handmade from New Zealand native rimu, salvaged from around the Hawke’s Bay. Each board shows off the natural colour variations and grain patterns of the timber, so no two boards are ever the same.
Because we work with salvaged, reclaimed rimu, you may notice the occasional nail hole or small crack. These have been carefully filled with black, food-safe resin and are part of what makes each board unique.
End-grain boards are known for being especially hard-wearing and long-lasting. The wood fibres absorb the knife edge rather than resisting it, which helps keep your knives sharper for longer and reduces the need for frequent sharpening.
All boards are finished with 100% food-safe mineral oil and our own board wax, made from a blend of mineral oil, beeswax, and carnauba wax.
The board features juice grooves on one side and a smooth surface on the other, making it a practical and beautiful addition to your kitchen or BBQ area.
